Case Studies
Willmott Dixon
Willmott Dixon Group is one of the UK’s largest privately owned construction, housing, property care and investment companies. The Group employs over 3,000 people across the UK whose focus is to deliver successful property and housing based projects for clients from a range of sectors.
Challenge
Each year the CEO holds company staff attitude meetings, which are held at five sites. It was felt that, although a useful exercise, employees found them rather dull and disinclined to engage and draw attention to themselves. This meant that the collection of data, which could be useful, was not forthcoming. As results came from five sites, it took a long time to combine them and get an overall company view. This cost quite a bit in terms of time and resources.
Solution
Willmott Dixon chose Eurosis to provide electronic voting as a means of turning this yearly event into something more worthwhile and capturing valuable information which could be used to benefit the company in the future. As the software is able to combine the results from multiple sessions, it enabled the company to instantly compile the results from all five meetings into one report, whilst preserving the results from the individual events. This meant that the money spent in terms of time and resources was dramatically reduced. By doing this, Willmott Dixon could view trends in staff attitudes based on demographic area, using the demographic filter on the software, and act on the information given.
Conclusion
The introduction of the wireless interactive system was well received. Staff felt more involved in the meeting and feedback increased dramatically. Utilising the audience response keypads has meant the data collected has been used elsewhere in the company for strategic planning, which has benefited the company enormously. The reporting facility also allowed the company an insight into demographic trends, which would not have previously been so transparent. It has allowed Human Resources to ascertain which issues need addressing and management decisions have been made as a result. Willmott Dixon is so happy with the interactive voting service, that they will be using it at their annual conference as well.
